The company’s roots reach back to 1876. In that year, Gustav Rabenbrunner opened a “rubber and gutta-percha trading house,” whose range already included leather drive belts as well as waterproof covers for wagons and horse blankets.
After several changes of ownership and name, Heinz Seybold took over the management in 1958. Under his leadership, the company was first run as “H. Seybold oHG” and later as “H. Seybold GmbH & Co. KG.”
In 1977, the “Technical Textile Fabrication” division moved from the city center to Düren-Gürzenich. With the first extension building, the foundation was laid there for today’s production site.
In 1991, Heinz Seybold handed over the management to his sons Hans-Dieter and Bernd Seybold.

From then on, Bernd Seybold devoted himself to the technical textile fabrication division, which he steadily expanded and strategically developed over many years. Through his commitment to industry associations, he also strengthened the company’s position in the technical textile industry.
In 2021, the two divisions were separated. The technical textile fabrication division was transferred to the newly founded Seybold Technische Konfektionen GmbH & Co. KG, of which Bernd Seybold assumed sole management. Since 2025, his nephew Christopher Seybold has joined the management, and together they are shaping the company’s future.
